Bahirai added: “Fortunately, in this field, the Food and Drug Organization of our country has been involved for many years and covered the regulatory discussions in terms of quality, but since the day we faced the ban on the official and legal import of these items, unfortunately, the market is at the disposal of smugglers.” taken and people cannot be confident about the quality, expiration date, handling and storage and other factors affecting the health and authenticity of the product.
He continued: Recently, the head of the Food and Drug Organization has warned about this issue and emphasized that we have made a mistake in creating restrictions on the import of health and cosmetic items, so it is better for decision makers to pay attention to the warnings of the head of the Food and Drug Organization and the path to facilitate the monitoring of imported goods.
According to Bahirai, when we witness this indescribable volume of smuggled hygienic and cosmetic products, we must go back to the past and analyze and revise the policies of the organizations involved in the work and believe that they have definitely made a mistake in the policy.
He continued: Global experience shows that policymakers should have a long-term approach to health and avoid hasty and unprofessional decisions. In addition, health is a multidimensional, and to optimize it, they should use different tools and proceed based on national division of work.
Bahirai added: A national division of work should be formed in relation to the provision of hygiene and cosmetic items. In this way, on one hand, obstacles are removed from the national production, which is a pride. On the other hand, to supply the products that are smuggled and illegally entered the country, a proper plan should be made according to the international laws. In addition, since one of the new and effective mechanisms in the world for the development of the industry is contract production, the conditions for its development should be made smoother.
According to Bahirai, Iranian brand owners who have focused their knowledge, expertise and global experience on creating and developing an Iranian brand should be supported by the government. The Ministry of Health, the Food and Drug Administration, the Ministry of industry, mine and trade and organizations related to this field should respect the investments made in this way and reduce the erosive processes.
The head of the Importers of Health and Cosmetics Association emphasized: The business environment should be facilitated for economic activists who operate with ID and legally,and in this way, all three fields, production, import and contract production, should be taken into consideration. because each of these three fields have a common enemy called smuggling.
Bahirai added: We have a memorandum of common cooperation and synergy to participate in issues such as outsourcing, training, obtaining advisory opinions of the association, referring applicants to the association, cooperation in the field of combating smuggling and using the capacities of the association in order to increase the health of products and improved the business environment with the Food and Drug Organization, which can be considered as a part of the national division of work, and we hope that government organizations will believe in the maturity and ability of specialized organizations more and more.
